DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING: Porsche’s introduction of the 718 GT4 RS represented the ultimate evolution of the mid-engined Cayman platform, showcasing the brand’s relentless pursuit of performance. Yet, as with any production vehicle, engineering compromises and regulatory requirements left untapped potential within the exhaust system. Our objective was clear: enhance the character of the GT3-derived 4.0-liter flat-six while unlocking the performance gains hidden behind the factory restrictions.

Throughout development, the improvements in power delivery, throttle response, and sound quality were immediately apparent from behind the wheel. However, we wanted more than subjective impressions—we wanted measurable data.

To achieve this, we partnered with M-Engineering, who generously provided access to their state-of-the-art dyno facility in Pompano Beach, Florida. Together with respected automotive content creator Mickey Hernandez of Miami Miles, we conducted extensive back-to-back testing across virtually every GT4 RS exhaust configuration we offer.

The goal was simple: quantify the performance gains available from each component and provide customers with transparent, unbiased data on what an exhaust upgrade can truly deliver. Whether upgrading a single section or installing a complete system, the results clearly demonstrate the benefits of optimizing exhaust flow throughout the platform—revealing performance that Porsche left on the table and allowing the GT4 RS to perform as its motorsport roots intended. The result is a complete exhaust package that combines uncompromising performance, an exhilarating motorsport-inspired soundtrack, and everyday usability. However, pursuing maximum flow and sound revealed an additional challenge that required attention: drone.

The result was immediate success with our Over Axle Pipes and rear exhaust system, delivering a freer-flowing exhaust path and a dramatic increase in character. However, we also recognized the need for versatility. For drivers who want maximum excitement on demand without sacrificing comfort, we developed a Valved Exhaust System that delivers the best of both worlds.

Featuring a full 3-inch X-pipe regardless of valve position, the system allows the flat-six’s signature high-frequency soundtrack to shine when the valves are open, while providing a more subdued and refined driving experience when they are closed. When paired with either our Competition or Resonated Over Axle Pipes, sound levels increase further and performance gains are enhanced by eliminating the factory exhaust restriction.

Building on the success of our Valved Exhaust and its ability to control drone, we developed a lighter, valveless system that delivers the same aggressive tone as valves-open mode, at all times. Engineered to maximize sound quality, it offers an engaging exhaust note while minimizing unwanted drone and rasp.

Ideal for pairing with aftermarket headers, this system provides a noticeable increase in volume over Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) in its open setting, yet maintains a refined, well-balanced tone. It’s also a great option for track-focused builds seeking maximum flow while staying mindful of sound limits.

With carefully tuned mufflers that effectively reduce drone and enhance depth, this setup produces a fuller, more purposeful exhaust note that complements the character of a Porsche.
