The SOUL Performance Products Competition Package for the 981 Boxster and Cayman is engineered by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts—delivering the ideal balance of performance and sound. By combining the high-flow design of our Competition Headers with the efficiency of the Valved Exhaust System’s X-pipe, this setup maximizes throttle response while offering a dramatic range in exhaust character for both street and track use.

With the valves closed, the system maintains a refined, comfortable tone suited for daily driving—free from excessive volume or drone. Open the valves, and it transforms, unleashing the full voice of the flat-six through a straight-through exhaust path, delivering an aggressive, motorsport-inspired sound through the tips of your choice.

POWER:  Our Competition Package was tested on a Mustang Dyno on a vehicle that was equipped with existing race headers, Porsche Sport Exhaust System, and a custom tune as the baseline. The Soul Performance Products Competition Package picked up 11 whp and 9 ft-lbs of torque – with more power expected with a custom retune. CONSTRUCTION:  Our precision engineered headers are meticulously fabricated from T304L stainless steel. Proven design elements including port matched flanges, smooth radius primary tubing, and collectors that optimize the exhaust flow all work in conjunction to maximize power gains. Every set is rigorously quality-checked prior to shipping. Each system is made from mandrel bent T304L stainless steel tubing and features mufflers with fortified casings in the interest of durability.     DEVELOPMENT: Our initial objective was simple: maximize the GT4 RS’s sound and performance potential through a cat-back exhaust system. The result was immediate success with our Over Axle Pipes and rear exhaust system, delivering a freer-flowing exhaust path and a dramatic increase in character. However, we also recognized the need for versatility. For drivers who want maximum excitement on demand without sacrificing comfort, we developed a Valved Exhaust System that delivers the best of both worlds.

    Featuring a full 3-inch X-pipe regardless of valve position, the system allows the flat-six’s signature high-frequency soundtrack to shine when the valves are open, while providing a more subdued and refined driving experience when they are closed. When paired with either our Competition or Resonated Over Axle Pipes, sound levels increase further and performance gains are enhanced by eliminating the factory exhaust restriction.

    The result is a complete exhaust package that combines uncompromising performance, an exhilarating motorsport-inspired soundtrack, and everyday usability. However, pursuing maximum flow and sound revealed an additional challenge that required attention: drone.
